Mother’s Day Guest of Honor
When planning a Mother’s Day party it should center around the guest of honor. A Mother’s Day guest of honor should be the host’s mother or someone who is a mother figure to the host. This is the one day out of the year when mothers are actually celebrated, and that should be taken into consideration when planning a party around this very special woman.

Guest List
A Mother’s Day guest list should be focused around the mother who is the guest of honor. The list should include: her children, her grandchildren, spouses of her children, and her spouse if applicable.

Mother’s Day Personalized Invitations
Mother’s Day personalized invitations are a great way to show how important the host’s mother is to them. Invitations can be made using their mother’s favorite color of cardstock paper. The host can write a personalized poem about their mother, or write what their mother means to them in the invitation.

Invitation Etiquette
Mother’s Day invitation etiquette follows most basic etiquette rules. Make sure to include the date, time, location, and RSVP information. If the host would like to request guests to bring a food item for a potluck it can be done in the invitation, but it should be written as a request not a demand. Asking the guests to bring gifts for the guest of honor is not appropriate in the invitation.

Mother’s Day Thank You Notes
Mother’s Day thank you cards should be sent out if any of the following takes place: a guest brought a dish for a potluck, a guest brought a present for the guest of honor, or a guest helped clean up after the party. Each thank you not should be personalized with the name of the guest and what the host is thankful for. If thank you cards are being sent out because gifts were given, then the host should write the note on the guest of honor’s behalf.

To show mothers this year how much one appreciates them, have a big celebration with many party supplies. Start by having balloons, center pieces, and dangling ceiling decorations. Prepare desserts and snacks to keep our sweet tooth’s happy. Give engraved albums as party favors or imprinted calendars.
